The Fog is the 2005 remake of the John Carpenter directed supernatural horror classic, brought to the big screen again for a new generation by director Rupert Wainwright (Stigmata). A propitious upcoming event is about to befall the sleepy hamlet of Antonio Island ' the anniversary of the town's founding. It is a night for community and celebration ' an occasion for revering the town's fathers for their ingenuity and efforts in erecting the town so many years ago. However, little does the town know that it's in for the most terrifying night of their lives ' once The Fog rolls in. A mysterious fog that seems to have a life on its own descends on the town, obscuring the ghostly ship of a colony of zombie lepers who once wanted to colonize the island, but were murdered by the town fathers who didn't want a leper colony anywhere near the township. Now on the anniversary of that fateful night, the sailors of the Elizabeth Dane are back for revenge against the descendants of those who murdered them.
