The Land Before Time IX: Journey to Big Water is a 2002 animated family adventure from Universal Cartoon Studios, the ninth movie in the popular The Land Before Time series. When heavy rainfall creates new bodies of water, Littlefoot (Thomas Dekker) and friends Cera (Anndi McAfee), Ducky (Aria Curzon), Petrie (Jeff Bennett), and Spike (Rob Paulsen) set off to explore the post-rain Great Valley, where they make a new dolphin-like friend, Mo (Rob Paulsen), who has been separated from his home in the Big Water by the weather. Their prehistoric world is changing fast, however, which does not only mean exciting new places, but also danger. When an earthquake separates the friends from their parents it is up to them to help Mo get back home, and then find their own way home. The topics of imaginary friends, loneliness, and what it means to be a brother are discussed in this movie that is fun for the whole family. The Land Before Time IX: Journey to Big Water was nominated for an Annie Award and five DVD Premiere Awards, in addition to winning a Young Artist Award.moreless
