When Do We Eat? is a comedy that tells the story of a Jewish family who, although they love each other very much, quarrels on a daily basis. Ira Struckman (Michael Lerner), an overbearing father, is determined to preserve tradition and hold his sons to the same despotic standard to which he was made to adhere as a child by his father. When his only son, Zeke (Ben Feldman), secretly puts a hallucinogen in Ira's drink, he begins to take on a new perspective on the Jewish conventions he holds so dear. Out of his new spiritual awakening, he begins to lead this year's Passover in a slightly different manner. This dysfunctional family must learn to live with each other as they prepare for the holidays. The film is reminiscent of many of today's popular television sitcoms. Other characters include Lionel (Adam Lamberg), Grace (Cynda Williams), and Nikki (Shiri Appleby).

Success depends on the degree to which Jewish auds connect with the broadly drawn stereotypes; gentiles and others are sure to pass over this culturally specific comedy altogether.
