Matthew Broderick Injured in Car Crash

The actor Matthew Broderick was in stable condition today after a car crash near Enniskillen in which two women were killed.

Mr. Broderick, 25 years old, starred in the film ''War Games'' and won a Tony Award for his performance in Neil Simon's Broadway play ''Brighton Beach Memoirs.'' He was traveling in Ireland with a friend, Jennifer Gray, when his car and a vehicle carrying the two women collided Wednesday afternoon.

The victims were identified by the police as Margaret Doherty, who was in her 60's, and her daughter, Ann Gallagher, 28, both from Enniskillen, County Fermanagh.

Mr. Broderick and Miss Gray were taken to Erne Hospital in Enniskillen, where Miss Gray was treated for minor injuries and released. A hospital spokesman said today that Mr. Broderick was in stable condition and that his life was not in danger.

The police said the cause of the crash was under investigation.
