MANILA, Philippines - Two months after his marijuana use became public, Big Bang leader G-Dragon finally spoke about the incident and apologized.

G-Dragon made the apology during the much-anticipated YG Family concert held on Dec. 3 and 4 in Seoul, South Korea.

The concert was a reunion of all Big Bang members including Daesung, who was involved in a car accident last May, which caused him to go on hiatus.

“I’m so sorry for causing so much trouble because of my mistake. I’ll make sure not to have the same thing happen again. I think the only way to show my appreciation is to come up with better music and performance. I’ll do my best to give a big present to the fans,” said G-Dragon, according to fan site Soompi.com.

In October, news broke out that G-Dragon tested positive for marijuana use based on an announcement by the Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office.

The incident occurred inside a club in Japan in May. YG Entertainment said that someone in the club gave G-Dragon a cigarette that turned out to be marijuana. He said he had a few puffs and then threw it away after realizing that it had a different taste.

G-Dragon initially tested negative after a urine test but tested positive during a hair drug test. Prosecutors decided not to charge him since only a small amount was found in his body. After the news came out, G-Dragon went on hiatus.

Big Bang member Daesung also shunned the public eye after he ran over a motorcyclist with his car last May.

Initially, the police said Daesung was the one who caused the death of the motorcyclist.

A settlement agreement was reached between Daesung and the family of the victim. It was not disclosed how much Daesung and YG Entertainment paid the family.

A reinvestigation was conducted and prosecutors eventually cleared the singer of any involvement in the accident.

Last November, Big Bang won the Worldwide Act plum in the MTV Europe Music Awards. It was the first time that Big Bang members appeared in public together.

The YG Family concert signaled the start of the activities of G-Dragon and Daesung and Big Bang as a group.

The concert also featured 2NE1, Psy, Tablo, Gummy, Se7en, and Jinusean.
