Convention Committees: Sectors & Industries

Some of the most politically influential sectors and industries in America were also some of the biggest underwriters of the Democratic and Republican nominating conventions in 2008. Coincidence? Here you can see our analysis of each host committee's fundraising by sector and, more specifically, by industry. Follow the links to see deeper analysis of their federal campaign contributions and influence over time. Note: The "non-profit" industry that was a major contributor to both '08 conventions was, in this case, represented mostly by the charitable foundations of wealthy individuals.
