It’s that time again. It’s time for us to pick our favorite music video of the week! A lot of great material was released over the past few days but we had to narrow it down to one. We based our decision on creativity, music, and most importantly why you won’t see it on MTV…but should!

And the pick of this week is…

Mums of Death: “Golden Axe”

Making the Cut:

For whatever magical reason, Scottish musician and deejay extraordinaire, Colin Bailey (Drums of Death), joined forces with the always changing, constantly evolving Jack Adams (Mumdance) to create Mums of Death. Get it? The video for their first EP, Golden Axe, was released late last week but didn’t start to create a buzz online for a couple days. Took sometime for this video to surface, but thank geebus it did. The song is a great collaboration of the two styles of deejaying both Drums of Death and Mumdance are known for. Rave/dance music mixed with solid baselines creates a sound that can live beyond the inside of a dark, pill covered dance floor.

Said & Done:

An 8-bit video game where you try to navigate a viking around a dance club full of drugs, cops,  and an ultimate fight scene against the combined superhuman powers of Mums-of-Death-bad-guy is something I almost wish was real. The viking dance is by far the greatest part, but check out the video in full. There is a lot going on and it’s worth the four and a half minutes.
