Tapes of Govt Sessions Uploaded to Youtube

Ljubljana, 9 December (STA) - An unknown user has uploaded several video excerpts of sessions of the Slovenian government to the video portal Youtube, triggering an investigation by the government.

"All available legal and investigative procedures necessary to protect the state's interests and to establish criminal liability will be undertaken," the Government Communications Office said in a statement.

The videos are from ceiling-mounted cameras installed in the conference room where the government holds its sessions. All government sessions are taped.

They were uploaded at the start of December by the user stariobrazi (old faces) and show the government's of Janez Jansa (2004-2008) and Borut Pahor (2008-2011).

The ministers are shown discussing materials that are designated as confidential, including the procedures regarding the border arbitration agreement with Croatia.

Gossip portal Pozareport reported that five videos had been uploaded, but only three are currently online. It is unclear whether the government has asked Youtube to take them down.

The videos are edited, suggesting that the person who uploaded them has acquired more material than is currently on show.
