Thank you for visiting my personal website! When I originally registered the domain name www.bolug.ca I had intended to use it as linux users group, but after asking around I found out that the handful of linux users I knew were already part of a group that was pretty close by. So, for a long, long time I didn't do much with the name, apart from changing its meaning to Brave Onions Live Underground, which I thought was amusing. Over the years I have made so many different personal webite designs that it's crazy. Speaking of crazy, with the amount of children my wife and I have, I've also used services like Opera Blogs, Windows Live Spaces, and Wordpress to host my little corner of the Internet, in the hopes that it would save me some time. But in the end, there's always some part of those services that makes me decide that the good old text editor and ftp client are still the masters of the web. Invariably, I go back to playing with this site again and again... and I love it! Why don't I just use a "social networking site"? Well, simply put: if I stop paying to host this site, it goes away for good; if I delete the site, it's gone, because I own it. So, with that in mind... What you find on www.bolug.ca is all of the misc ramblings that I wish to share with my fellow Earthlings. From computer programming to gardening, if I have time write about it, you'll be able to read it here. - R. Bassett Jr. |

Technology For all those interesting man made things that can't be lumped in with "computers", we have the technology section! I do enjoy building things, not that I have time to cram it into the hours of the day... Random Rambling This is exactly what it sounds like. www.tpot.ca I also run a small fan site, The Power of Text, which is designed to be a quick loading index of useful links and information for Sony Online Entertainment games such as Everquest II and Planetside 2. It started out as a personal homepage to help me make better use of the in game web browser in Star Wars Galaxies, but has since grown to cover other SOE games. Star Wars Galaxies From 2003 to 2011, Sony Online Entertainment hosted a Star Wars MMO that I really enjoyed playing over the years. Unlike so many other games, SWG had a lot of depth to its game play systems, as well as nice community. Given how unique it will remain, I figured I would archive all of my SWG related files online for anyone who may be interested. Other Computer Games I really don't have enough "free time" to play even one video game with any sort of gusto, but still like playing and talking about them when I have time. Way, way back when I had Commodore 64, I also enjoyed making them in BASIC! Nature & Gardening Hey, you don't need to be a farmer to enjoy growing things! My dad always grew fruits and vegtables each summer when I was growing up and each year that goes by, I always intend to do the same... Music I Made At one time, long ago, I made music quite regularly. I'll just sum it up by stating that I am not a musician. Enjoy!
