KAT-TUN ranks No.16 Most Powerful Group of all-time in terms of album and single sales!


Music Station just presented on Jan 13 with a special report 最強グループBEST20 or Most Powerful Group BEST 20 which the the Top 20 most powerful groups of all-time in term of physical single and album sales.

KAT-TUN joined the Top 20 at No.16.  With five year debut, 17 singles and 5 albums, together have made them over 8,450,000 copies sold.  Music Station hints to this ranking included the debut single Real Face which become 2006's No.1 selling single and how they managed to hold 8 consecutive concert at Tokyo Dome.

Among the groups in Top 20, KAT-TUN is apparently the newest group!

I submitted the whole ranking at arama but of course, it always takes ages to get approved over there. The last time was like 5 hours!

Among the groups in Top 20, KAT-TUN is apparently the newest group!

And AKB48, actually. AKB48 debut single was released on the same year, only their's on February.
But still, congratulations KAT-TUN!!! And all the group listed on Top 20!

Thanks for this info! I'm so proud of them to be #16! :D considering most of the other groups have existed for many years, much longer than KT have, and that KT are the newest group among the 20 =)
Although, AKB48 did debut the same year as KT...but they released their debut single a little earlier than KT I think.
