The Football Federation of Macedonia (FFM) accepted the request by Treska to change its name and become officially registered as FK Makedonija Gjorce Petrov 1932.  This was expected for some time but it finally became realized.

Since Makedonija Gjorce Petrov quit the First League in the 2009/2010 season, the club was unable to participate at the senior level.  Therefore, the club's board took over FK Treska from the nearby village of Sisevo, moved the team to Makedonija Gjorce Petrov stadium, and was supported by their old fans who always saw the club as Makedonija Gjorce Petrov.

Treska won the Third League North promotion play-off last season and is now playing in the Second League with ambitions to gain promotion back to the top division.  The club is currently tied for first place (alongside Drita) on the table with 29 points after 15 rounds as they will resume the second half of the season in early March with the name of Makedonija Gjorce Petrov.

This was another case in Macedonian football of a club ceasing to exist before continuing from a new beginning.  For instance, this past summer, FK Vardar  and FK Miravci decided to merge and form the clubs of FK Vardar 1947 and FK Miravci 1950.
