Trade Federation battleship
Enormous Ring-Shaped Cruisers

Description
At over three kilometers in diameter, these enormous vessels resemble flattened disks with a central sphere containing the ship's bridge and reactor assemblies. The disk is broken at the front of the craft, revealing two mammoth docking bays lined with forward docking claws. The reclusive Neimoidian commanders typically seal themselves in the ship's spacious bridge while their legions of droids handle the operation of the mighty craft.
The most important vessel in a Trade Federation blockade or Separatist battleship flotilla is the Droid Control Ship, which was easily distinguished by the clustered array of transmitters and receiver antennae on its dorsal surface. This array transmitted signals to the battle droid armies used by the Trade Federation and Separatist forces.

Relationships
Trade Federation
The Trade Federation employed these enormous vessels primarily as transport craft. The powerful shipping organization was able to bend Republic laws that would ordinarily prohibit simple transports from being so heavily armed. According to the Neimoidians in the Senate, such weapons were essential in defending vital trade in the galaxy.
Separatist Alliance
When the Clone Wars erupted, sparked by a Separatist movement that sought to break away from the Republic, the Confederacy of Independent Systems emerged with a starfleet filled with Trade Federation battleships. The Federation disavowed any involvement with the Separatists, maintaining their loyalty to commerce within the Republic, and blamed such defections on the influence of extremists.
Anakin Skywalker
When he was only nine years old, Anakin Skywalker destroyed a Droid Control Ship responsible for the siege of Naboo. The gifted boy piloted a Naboo N-1 starfighter into the cavernous docking bays of the ship, and fired a volley of proton torpedoes into the unprotected heart of the vessel which started a chain reaction that destroyed it.
Separatist dreadnought
Though indisputably well armed, the Trade Federation battleships suffer limitations due to their primary function as transports. Their weapons systems are not distributed in an efficient pattern, leaving large gaps in its firing arcs that can be exploited by nimble starfighters. For that reason, these battleships are often supplemented with aggressive combat craft like the Separatist dreadnought.
Separatist supply ship
As spacious as the Trade Federation battleship's cargo holds are, there is still a need for more dedicated transports with greater cargo capacity. The Separatist transport has evolved to fill that need.
