Memorial Stadium Facts
Memorial Stadium is named in honor of the sons and daughters of Indiana University who have served in the wars of the republic. The mast of the USS Indiana is a gift of the United States Navy to Indiana University with accompanying armament. It stands as a memorial to the sons and daughters of the state of Indiana who have so gallantly served in the armed forces of our nation.

Dedication: Oct. 22, 1960 (IU vs. Michigan State)
Surface: Field Turf
Stadium Capacity: 52,929
Largest Crowd/Year: 56,223 vs. Purdue, 1969
Record: 131-145-3

The Walk
One of the exciting traditions for Hoosier fans to participate in on game days is The Walk. At each home game, fans can gather to show their support for the team as they make their pregame walk to the stadium in preparation for an IU victory. Two hours and 15 minutes prior to kickoff, the team buses will arrive on the west side of Assembly Hall. The Marching Hundred and the cheerleaders will lead the fans in singing "Indiana, Our Indiana" and "Indiana Fight!" as the team walks down the steps and through the Orange Lot to the stadium.
