Go Ask Grandma
by Padmore Enyonam Agbemabiese

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Padmore Enyonam Agbemabiese is a Ghanaian poet, playwright and scholar. Currently, he is at The Ohio State University in the United States. He received his elementary education at Abor Roman Catholic Primary School and later his secondary education at Abor and Kpandu secondary schools. Throughout this period, his grandmother never left him uninformed of who he is. The basic statements of his grandmother's ideas and positions have become relevant to the understanding of his educational views. According to Padmore Agbemabiese, prescriptions and controversies that spring from what his grandmother perceives as literacy are vital today as they often explode in scholarship on what constitutes education or literacy across the world.

"Like the pendulum swinging to and fro, our minds swing here and there in search of new ways to doing things. There is nothing wrong with change. But some changes take us back to where we left off, ten years ago." Who can ignore this fact?
                 --The Literary Observer, March 2003

Padmore Agbemabiese is blessed with a grandmother who shared her wisdom through word and deed to her family and community some decades ago. Today, Padmore has blessed us by sharing Grandma's words and values to those who read this book and attend his classes. We have received the seed she planted in Law Ten that "to be successful in life does not depend on how many dreams you have but those dreams you have kept alive." Padmore, thank you for reminding us that "what we do today, tomorrow and in our futures with what we have acquired over the years will be the substance of how we are remembered tomorrow." The love and respect exuding from this book has deeply touched our hearts and souls. Thank you!
