Colonial Mall in Staunton will soon have a new name.

The mall was recently sold to a new owner who has decided to go back to the original name, Staunton Mall.

General Manager Kim Sprouse says most people still refer to the center as Staunton Mall, so they figured they'd make it easy on shoppers and return to the original name.

Sprouse also says shoppers should expect some new exciting changes in the near future, although she can't yet reveal what new stores are coming.

WOW, that took a lot of imagination, calling the mall Staunton Mall. How about something that would attract shoppers, not another generic name. Everything has either Staunton/Valley/Augusta in it's name. Hey, we know where we are. How about a mall that's worth staying in Staunton for.

They are going to have to put in some GREAT stores to keep shoppers now that Kohls and Target will be in Waynesboro. . .
