Thaddeus McCotter draws cheers with China attack
Thaddeus McCotter has just finished giving a slow, abstract, exceptionally sober speech to the crowd in Ames, drawing little response from his audience.
The strongest reaction — the only thing resembling a real cheer, actually, until McCotter concluded — came when McCotter decried the "regime in Beijing" for a long list of offenses.

"We have to accept the fact that Communist China is a strategic threat and rival model of governance to the United States," McCotter said, referring to the Chinese having "butchered my generation" in Tiananmen Square.
“I will not cede the 21st Century to a Communist, nuclear-armed dictatorship," he continued.
For the most part, though, McCotter's speech was plodding, abstract and delivered in archaic language (examples: "in my mind's eye," "disparate regions of Earth," "reached its zenith," etc.)

Heard McCotter's speech at the Ames straw poll today in full. Interesting. Refreshing. Not the same BS as Palin, Bachman or Perry. I only wish McCotter gives more specifics and puts his money where his mouth is, by way of not letting China beat US as the world's greatest nation. Is he willing to “Take All Necessary Steps” to prevent this imminent threat to our reputation and freedom from becoming a reality, by announcing specifics: e.g. Freeze the assets of this communist country in USA, ask all in US and elsewhere to STOP BUYING "MADE IN CHINA" and buy instead, “Made In USA.” Ask all in US and elsewhere to “Give away to Salvation Army” everything ‘Made In China’ they own. McCotter will be more believable then. Thanks.

What a joke that Mccotter got treated like this. As Dennis Miller says "this guy can bend spoons with his brain. Listen folks dont be pushed back because of my handle. I use this name to mess with the diseased libs.
Mccotter may be over qualified for the job. He is as brilliant (maybe More) than Newt but has no baggage. Perry sounded good today but he is a Bilderberger. You know Clintons/Soros/Geitner/Perry type of folks. Don't get in any tall buildings in the financial district if Perry gets in..... WTC 2 and WWIII.
Michelle Bachman seems really sweet but if I have to listen to her screach for the next year and a half "Theat Baraahhk Ohhhbaaahhhma is Goohinhg to be a O..H..n...ee Teahhhrm ...Prehhhzeeedehhhnt". I am gonna leave the country.
Look up Mccotter on you tube. Here is a link to a cocker
McCotter seems smart enough to know that he is on a fool's errand and is making a fool of himself. Still I would vote for him over Ron Paul or Hussein.
I've watched a couple of his speeches and floor remarks on C-SPAN. A very thoughtful guy. Too bad the country would rather fawn over middle aged MILFs.
McCotter is a brilliant and talented man (great musician too). I would love to see him debate the teleprompter-reading messiah...He may not be successful in his 2012 bid but keep an eye on him, he's still very young.
Im a fan of McCotter, but I have to say, his speech yesterday was less than dull. He needs to combine his brilliance and his conserative bona fides with at least a semblence of passion if he hopes to have any success on the national campaign trail.
I've seen him jam a few times, so I know he has that passion in him. He just needs to put it on political display.
