O'Halloran spreads Swans gospel

Posted on: Thu 25 Dec 2008

Swans loan signing Stephen O'Halloran has returned to Aston Villa spreading the Swansea City gospel.

The left-back had to cut short his loan spell with the Swans following yet another cruciate ligament injury a fortnight ago, but the 21-year-old had already seen enough of Swansea City to predict big things for Roberto Martinez's men.

Speaking in The Swan, the club's matchday programme for the Boxing Day visit of Coventry City, O'Halloran said: "This is certainly a club on the up. I would like to think I may return to Swansea one day to have another crack.

"I hope I made a good impression, because Swansea made a good impression on me.

"The club and Roberto are getting good reputations throughout the Premier League. There may be a lot of clubs that play route one football in the Championship, but Swansea certainly isn't one of them.

"I think Roberto is doing a great job for Swansea and the way they play the game is a credit.

"I firmly believe Roberto has what it takes to manage in the Premiership and hopefully he can do that with Swansea.''

You can read the full interview in The Swan on Boxing Day, together with a double-page Q & A with Ashley Williams and an exclusive caricature of the Welsh international defender.

We've also got our regular columns from the manager, chairman and club captain, plus X-files, Jacks Away, Next Up At Home, Youth, Centre of Excellence, Press Box, Travelling Jacks, Match reports, Commercial and Talking Welsh.

There are plenty of facts and figures, while Coventry City and their Swansea-born boss Chris Coleman are given full coverage, including their Six of the Best.

We'll be taking the usual trip down Memory Lane with Programmes from the Past and our A - Z series of past Swans.

The 80 pages are great value and a great read . . . and all for just £3. The Swan is available in the club shop and from Slee Stores on Neath Road, Plasmarl (opposite the Coopers Pub). You can also pick up your copy from around the ground before the game.
