The Netherlands: Three duels determined
The following three duels in Nationaal Songfestival 2012 have been determined at the RTL4 show Life4you:
- Joan Franka - You and me -vs- Raffaëla - Chocolatte
- Kim de Boer - Children of the world -vs- Ivan Peroti - Take me as I am
- Pearl - We can overcome -vs- Tim Douwsma - Undercover lover
The winners of the duels, to be decided by a 50%-50% combination of jury deliberation and televoting with the advisory vote of the international jury, will advance to the 'superfinal'. Finally, a professional jury and the Dutch viewers will decide which act will get the ticket for Baku.
Nationaal Songfestival will take place on Sunday, February 26th at 20:20 CET.
The Netherlands will participate in the first half of the second semifinal of the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest, on May 24th.

Following in the footsteps of her auntie - the One & Only Ruth Jacott ( Netherlands 1993 Vrede ) it has to be - Raffaëla - Chocolatte to win the Nationaal Song Festival 2012 and represent the Netherlands in Baku in May - 12 Points for the UK :-) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
@Michael, if you take a look at the draw you will see that the lady who take the papers with countries names from the balls she look in to each ball before to take the paper. Can anybody quarantee that some papers dont have signs and that was equal draw ? Why she didnt choose a paper without to take a look first to each ball ? @Poker and @Raff ok maybe Netherlands didnt choose the best songs but many ex soviet countries also didnt choose the best songs but they make it to the final, and not only that ...they take good places in the final. For example Moldovian, Georgian and Russian songs last year was something extremly good ? Of course not ! But they make it beacuse they have 9 ex soviet behind them ( and also huge immigrant televoting around Europe ). Also Armenian last year bad song was one step before to make it. But this never happen with Netherlands and many other countries. :)
everyone like joan i dont see it tbh its going to be boreing on stage fact the song is going to repeat it self and that will get boring and she trying to be lena but atleast she has a up beat song ! Raffaëla - Chocolatte to win
I don't know what to wish for the Netherlands..They are in a tough semi..They will need something extremely good to make it to the final, like Anna fron Switzerland last year..I can't judge based on the 12 sec snippets though..
Maybe Joan is the most quality choice , but one year more i think i dont go to see Netherland in the final , good luck
@lina la la love ::: haha that's good idea!!!i actually hate blocking vote especially when EX soviet vote and give high points each other...its really sucks Honestly Netherlands had good song in 2011, je vecht nooit allen ( am i correct ?sorry cant speak dutch ), but after dutch team translated their song in english , the song became nothing....sad!

Michael UK i think it is a smart move by EBU! they will be rivals and if they vote for their neighbours,they will risk their qualification so they are in fact in danger of staying in the semi :D but the netherlands will never be in the final unless they learn to choose the bestsong :D

i am very very dissapointed :-( netherlands - my god - there is nothing to remember in these 6 songs - all crap - sorry you use to make great songs - remeber the 70's and 80's!!!!
@ lina la la love ........ its crazy that the EBU allowed the draw to select all these blocks in the same semi final. its not rocket science, an 8 year old could have devised a fairer draw.

Although Netherlands are in difficult semifinal with too many blocks and also strong ESC countries i hope to send a good song and be in the final. But if Netherlands send good song and stay in semi and that piece of crap from Georgia make it ( beacuse of huge ex soviet votes ) then Netherlands should withdraw from next year as a protest for all that cheating blocks and stay away until EBU find a solution and make new equal voting system. Of course many countries must withdraw together with Netherlands for the same reason ! That contest is not free of charce ! All Countries pay huge amount for participation and we cant have almost same countries in final wharever they send beacuse of theyr blocks ! This year that trush from Georgia start in semifinal with huge points from 3 countries ( Belarus, Armenia and Ukraine ) but Netherlands starting from zero points.... this is equal ?
stupid idea to have duels cos the best 2 songs are in the same duel. chocolate and you and me . the only other song that might be ok is undercover lover
Raffaella and Joan are the best choices. too bad they are in the same duel. I'd say JOAN for the WIN because she's a different singer and the song is cool (from what i can hear). She gives me "Lena" vibes.
A decent bunch of songs if not outstanding I think TIM should win or second choice would be Pearl

i like " take me as I am "...Ivan perotti probably will save Netherlands to final this year. I'll wait for the full song.
Chocolatte really does not set me alight at all, it's just a cheesy boring disco song...really no winner sorry.
Things are looking grim for Netherlands this year...none of the songs are very good at all. The only acceptable songs are Ivan "Take me as I am" or "We can overcome" but the latter sounds like the disaster of Glennis Grace. So to me only Ivan can save the day with "Take me as I am" .....but even that will not get Netherlands to the Final. Quite why they are doing this duel thing over 6 dreadful songs I have no idea!!!
