Posted on: Mon 21 Jun 2010

FC Halifax Town have confirmed the signing of 29 year old defender Mark Bower from Darlington.

Bower started his career in West Yorkshire at his home town club of Bradford City. In over 12 years at the Bantams he made over 250 league appearances and scoring 13 goals.

The 5ft 10 centrehalf has had loan spells at Luton Town and York City before joining Darlington last summer. He only made 13 appearances in an injury hit campaign.

Neil Aspin has been on the look out for an experienced centrehalf after Steve Payne´s retirement at the end of last season.

The Town boss told the official website, "I am delighted to get Mark into the Club, he brings in some valuable experience as we look to build for next season".

Bower´´s arrival at the Shay follows the arrivals of striker Jamie Vardy from Stocksbridge Park Steels, midfielder Simon Garner from Clitheroe and defender Liam Hogan from Woodley Sports.

Stay with the official website for all the confirmed signings this summer.
