New Astrology Chart Dates: Zodiac Signs 2011

A person can determine their astrological sign using their birth date. Their sign depends on the Earth’s relative position to the sun on that date. The Christian Science Monitor points to the silliness of horoscopes. They point out that the signs were developed nearly 2,000 years ago.

As such, the position of the Earth relative to the Sun on various days has changed significantly over the years. This, in effect, delegitimizes horoscope predictions, which will be all off.

The change in the Earth’s position is due to precession, the process in which the Earth’s axis wobbles. This has increased the Earth’s gravitational attraction to the moon, which is being pulled against the Earth’s equator most directly.

Minnesota Planetarium Society board member Parke Kunkle brought the process of precession to media attention. However, precession was identified much earlier.

Aristarchus of Samos, who lived around 280 B.C. first recognized precession and was able to assess the subsequent movement. Astronomers know that the Earth is like a wobbly top.

Therefore, precession’s change in the Zodiac signs does not really come as a surprise. The North Star is currently the Earth’s brightest star. However, it was previously Thuban, a star in the constellation Draco. In 12,000, due to changes, it will be Vega, a star in the constellation Lyra.

I’m sorry but i will not believe for one second that Scorpio is only on the chart for 7 days….. hm mm hint of deceit? if anything there are 12 months and 12 ORIGINAL signs. I am and will forever be a Scorpio. This chart can die in a black hole along with this “new Star Sign”.

I think the only way this could be true is if just the names changed – the (old) cancer description of people born june 22 – july 22 is still the same, only the name of the sign has changed. Or sumthin like that! I know my son (july 11) is a true cancer and I (oct 9) am a true libra! No changing that!

i’m no happier than anyone else about having been changed to a pieces. however, this new chart is really so new, people. it’s actually the original version made by the babylonians. we were the ones who changed it in the first place. i say look on the bright side: this is a chance for you to become a whole new person than you were before! i’m usually not optimistic, but there you go. optimism. your welcome.
