Beginning March 25, Vision Airlines will offer flights to and from 12 new markets to Northwest Florida Regional Airport, with rates starting at $79 for a one-way ticket. Five additional destinations will be added April 1.

The move is being touted as the largest commercial airline expansion in more than a decade. An introductory fare from the airport to any of the new destinations is being offered for $49 for a one-way ticket for travelers who book their flights between now and Jan. 23.

Vision Airlines will operate flights seven days a week using Boeing 737 and Dornier 328 aircraft, according to a press release.

“Vision Airlines is excited to offer these new flight services to the community of Destin-Fort Walton Beach in a confident effort to bring visitors back to the destination,” said David Meers, chief operating officer of commercial operations for Vision Airlines. “It is our desire to continue to grow our service and route structure, and offer tremendous value to travelers."

“Vision Airlines’ new low-fare service on large Boeing 737 aircraft will offer passengers affordable flights to the Emerald Coast and will bring thousands of visitors to the shores of Destin and Fort Walton Beach to enjoy the sugar-white beaches and clean, emerald-green water,” said Michael Stenson, business development manager of Northwest Florida Regional Airport. “Located between Panama City to the east

and Pensacola to the west, we expect to draw passengers from all of Northwest Florida – making VPS the major airport on Florida’s Emerald Coast.”

Vision Airlines – headquartered in Atlanta – began operations in 1994 in Las Vegas. Today, the company operates a mixed fleet of aircraft including the Boeing 767, Boeing 737 and Dornier 328 aircraft.
