Based on real world benchmarks with numerous customers, the UnboundID Directory Server has been proven to deliver write performance that is 10X or more of what can be achieved with competitive solutions.

Easier to Configure and Maintain – The UnboundID Directory Server delivers on long outstanding customer requests for clear design choices, coherent configuration models, and well-defined performance objectives in a directory services solution. For example, one of the most innovative features of the UnboundID Directory server is the ability to easily replay configuration changes from one server to another. Especially useful, the configuration server group feature allows you to define a set of “like” servers, where a change made to one server can be applied to all servers in the group simultaneously.

Simplified Replication – The UnboundID Directory Server does not use the LDAP protocol, so the LDAP listener is not required to be active. Unlike other directory solutions, which uses point-to-point server agreements for replication, the UnboundID Directory Server uses a replication server set, improving simplicity, reliability, and recoverability.

Better Monitoring – The UnboundID Directory Server was designed from the ground up with integrated monitoring in mind and exposes extensive server health metrics over LDAP and JMX. This information includes performance details, information about the current connections and active operations, recent average and maximum server busyness, a server stack trace, memory usage by backend, replication status, and much more.

Improved Auditing – Instead of a single, unwieldy access log, the UnboundID Directory Server supports multiple, customizable logs, allowing you to easily track operations performed by any set of clients or request types. For example, one log can track all operations performed by administrators and a separate log can track operations that take longer than one second. Log data can be written to multiple destinations, including syslog and relational databases.
