Description

Khumbutse is the first mountain to the west of Everest. In comparison with Everest it is nothing, but in itself it is a nice peak. To the west are two other mountains: Lingtren and Pumori. Though the mountain has steep sides on all sides it is for a large part covered in snow and ice. Trekking and climbing groups on the Lho Lha pass frequently report avalanches on this mountain. Dutch climber Bart Vos ascended this mountain for the first time in 1993, according to one of his books.
