Blues starlet Jordon Mutch is set to pick up valuable first team experience after joining Hereford United on loan.

The 17-year-old midfielder has signed for the League Two club until 2 January 2010 on a Football League Youth Loan registration.

That means that England Under-17 international Mutch is still eligible to play in non-first team games for Blues, although Hereford games would take precedence if on the same day as a Birmingham City reserve or Academy fixture.

The St. Andrew's management team have given permission for him to be eligible for selection for John Trewick's squad for their FA Cup second round tie at home to Colchester United on Saturday.

Mutch signed a professional deal with Blues, taking him through to the summer of 2011, at the end of April this year and will be looking forward to kickstarting his career at Edgar Street.
