Reviewer Background:
Purchased From:
The Texas seller from the E-Bay
Price:
Features:
The 6-string Yamaha electic guitar made in 1966 / 22 frets / Gold plated knobs and tunes / Weight: 3.5 Kg ( 7.7 pounds ) / The entire length: 103 cm ( 40.5 inches ) / Color: Sunburst / The 3-way toggle switch is similar to the Mosrite Ventures model / An unique body shape / There is no other body shape like this one.
Action, Fit, & Finish:
No visible rust. Body paint is still perfect. A few tiny dings are visible.
Sound Quality:
I played through a Musicman amp 410 with a foot switch and an effect ( AX5G Modeling Signal Processor ). / I have created the Ventures sound from the US and Shadows sound from the UK. /
Reliability/Durability:
A well-made guitar for the price. It stays in tune as always.
Ease of Use:
Customer Support:
No warranty provided since I bought it from the E-Bay in June, 2008. It is a well-made vintage 6-string Yamaha electric guitar from the late 1960's Era. This 6-string vintage Yamaha electric guitar was sold from August, 1966 to the mid 1967.
Overall Rating:
I have been playing guitar since 1965. I was born in Tokyo, Japan. When I was a teenager, we copied the Venture's music from the US and Shadows music from the UK. We also copied and played some Beatles, Animals, Rolling Stones & Searchers music. I wish I have purchased this 6 string electric guitar in 1966 or 1967. I underestimated the Yamaha Nippon Gakki Company. When I came to San Francisco from Tokyo, Japan in August, 1971, I have found a few Yamaha electric guitars since then. This is one of the best one. My 2 sons and I own a little over 60 guitars. We have only 9 vintage guitars in our collection.
