David Winter

David Winter

David Winter became a follower of the Bond phenomenon after seeing his first Bond film, A View To A Kill on television when 7. He founded CommanderBond.net back in 2000. David’s work at CBn includes the design, development and management of the web site, as well as other site-based duties. His favourite film is Goldeneye and his favourite book is Ian Fleming’s Moonraker. David works for a website development company, based in London.

In 2000, Tim set up his own fan site dedicated to the man called 007. He improved his site from time to time and in 2003 his site became the official site of the Bondklub Deutschland, the German 007 Club (He remains the Webmaster of the site). Tim has been a member of CommanderBond.net since March 2001, and in the winter of 2002 he became a team member. Tim, who is about to start university, earns his pocket money with what started with Bond in 2000—creating web sites. Today Tim is creating websites for companies and exhibitions. His favourite Bond movie is The Living Daylights, and his favourite Bond actor Timothy Dalton. Tim likes Ian Fleming’s novel Moonraker best and is also a fan of John Gardner’s 007 novels. Athena Stamos

Athena Stamos

Born in 1982, Athena lives in Los Angeles and works for the LA Philharmonic. She’s studied journalism, has her cosmetology license, enjoys photography and is an avid Doctor Who fan. Athena came to 007 fandom in 1991 via the reportedly failed cartoon James Bond Jr. It wasn’t such a failure after all! In 1993 her Bond film curiosity was sparked when she visited Piz Gloria in Switzerland (On Her Majesty’s Secret Service) and the Monasteries of Meteora in Greece (For Your Eyes Only). Then in 1999 the obsession took off with the release of The World is Not Enough. Athena joined CBn in August 2003, soon after becoming a team member, and for a while co-hosted the Bondcast podcast for Cinematical. She attended the royal premiere of Quantum of Solace in 2008 and in 2011 celebrated her birthday by hosting a 3 day Bondathon. Her favorite Bond actors are Pierce Brosnan and Roger Moore. Jacques Stewart

Jacques Stewart

Jacques I.M. Stewart (“Jim”) was born in Montego Bay, Jamaica in 1973. Raised in London and Jamaica, he was educated at Eton and Balliol, taking a Double First Law and English Literature. During his first year at Oxford, he met, fell in love with and married Isabella, with whom he is still falling in love (although with irregular working hours, meeting can be a problem) Having started a career at the Bar, this was curtailed by a car accident. During two years’ recuperation, he completed his Ph.D, although as Isabella is a “proper” doctor, he does not use his title. A series of editing jobs led to his current employment, editing academic (legal) texts. He lives in Oxfordshire with Mrs Jim and their four children. Their eldest daughter died in February 2003. Jacques’ interest in James Bond stems from the novels; his introduction to the character was by reading it. As for the films, he thinks it a pity they stopped making them in 1987 and looks forward to the day they make another one. Beyond James Bond, his interests are reading, pretending to be asleep when the children and/or wife are talking and “having a bit of a think”. He is currently halfway through three novels (writing, not reading), all of which seemed a good idea at the time, and is trying to finish his James Bond fan fiction “Just Another Kill”, a gruesome collection of violent distractions.

Devin contributes to CBn with articles covering various aspects of the 007 world, such as the novels, films, music and more. He also assists in future sections for the site and is the current head of CBn Fan Fiction. Besides his James Bond obsession (including collecting various editions of the 007 novels from around the world), he enjoys a variety of movies, books and music. His favourite James Bond actor is Roger Moore, with The Spy Who Loved Me as his favourite movie. Ian Fleming’s Doctor No is his favourite novel.

He is an avid traveller, having spent time living in Tahiti, the United Kingdom and Canada, and travelled extensively throughout the rest of the world. Matt became a James Bond fan after playing Rare’s GoldenEye for Nintendo 64. His fandom soon expanded to the films and then to the novels, where his appreciation now lies. Matt’s favourite 007 actor is Daniel Craig and his favourite Bond film, Casino Royale. Matt believes Ian Fleming is the original and the best James Bond author, with From Russia With Love his favourite novel. He is also a fan of Charlie Higson’s Young Bond books and Samantha Weinberg’s Moneypenny Diaries trilogy. In his spare time, Matt enjoys film, television and socialising with friends.
