Middlesbrough based indie pop band Collectors Club are the latest North East band to be invited by BBC Introducing to play a major festival this year, following in the footsteps of Tipping Point favourites Sharks Took the Rest, Vinyl Jacket and Cattle & Cane.
As announced over the weekend, the five-piece band will play the BBC Introducing stage at T in the Park on Saturday 9th July.
Collectors Club formed through a shared love of arguing about music. Influences range from Rough Trade greats (The Smiths, The Strokes and The Libertines) to the upbeat indie pop of Vampire Weekend and Bombay Bicycle Club, which means they're effortlessly cool without shying away from melody.
First To Know by Collectors Club
The band have garnered much support from Bob Fischer at BBC Tees and have supported US band Mona as well as playing Middlesbrough's Intro Festival this year. Collectors Club's set at T in the Park is followed on August 5th by a mainstage slot at Stockton Weekender.
