May

May opened with the much-hyped project from the "midas touch" producer Dil Raju, Munna (Prabhas, Illeana - Vamsy Paidipalli). Though the film was a hot property when it was announced, but due to the unexpectedly long wait time during its making and due to rumors of reshooting the film, the movie went damp by the time it reached the silver screen! Eventually, the poor story-line rendered the film a flop! Srihari's Sreemahalakshmi, a Malayalam remake, was more in news because of Srihari's long-haired attire!

Without much in the movie's publicity than his hair to talk about, the movie failed to make an impression. The famous Sumanth Art Productions' product Aata (Siddharth, Illeana - V.N. Aditya) was in news more for wrong reasons than right ones - Siddharth refused to agree it's a freemake for Gudumba Shankar even though the director of that film, Veerashankar, was compensated for lifting some scenes from his movie, Illeana engaged herself in skin show and a brief liplock with Siddharth, etc.

The film failed to keep itself in theaters for long. Bhoo Kailash (Venumadhav, Gowri Munjal, Suhasini, Mumait Khan - Siva Nageswara Rao) breathed some life to the director who always had a trouble getting a hit; his previous venture Photo lost its lustre soon after the release! Operation Duryodhana (Sreekanth, Kalyani, Mumait Khan

- Posani Krishna Murali) became a hit, also due to the controversies surrounding the film, and made Posani a big director overnight! (He's currently working for Aapada Mokkula Vaadu with Nagababu, another project for Ushakiron Movies, and is also planning for a sequel to the fresh hit Operation Duryodhana.)

Rest of the films (all flops) include Ram Gopal Varma, Neti Mahatma, Gundamma Gaari Manavadu, Raju Bhai, Premiste Pranamisthaa!, Railway Gate (Prithvi in a dual role, Pooja - K.R. Sri Sai Srinivas), Nee Navve Chaalu (Shivaji, Sindhu Tholani, Nikhita - Eluri Mallikarjun), Veduka, Spiderman-3, China Mantragatte, Aranyamlo Andagatte, Anaconda Adventure, Vaishali, Deal.

June

June has only one hit, Dubai Seenu (Raviteja, Nayanatara - Srinu Vaitla), and this film made some money to everyone that invested in the movie. Chandrahaas (Harinath Policherla, Astha Singhal, Krishna - Sivashakti Datta) was a disaster, but the producers blatantly dragged it for 50 days! The audience also didn't accept S.V. Krishna Reddy's gift of the year, Bahumathi (Venu, Sangeetha).

Rest of the films followed suit too - Laila Majnu (Harivarun, Jyothikrishna - Anji Srinu), Naaku Kavalsindi Preminche Hrudayam (Surya, Mahesh, Ratan, Mamatha, Juhi, Manju - Vellanki Durga Prasad Chowdary), Vihaari (Mithun, Nikesha, Polin - R. Tulasi Kumar), Boys & Girls (Prithvi, Arjun Singh, Shyla Lopez - V. Rajagopal), Aa Roje... (Yashwant, Soumya - K.S. Kumar), DTS (Aditya Om, Anitha Patel, Surya - D. Nageswara Rao), and the dubbed flicks Garjana, Dongala Deevi, Manikantha, Murder-2, Ghost Man saw no different a fate. The only difference is the record-maker Sivaji (Rajinikant, Sriya - Shankar).

July

July started with Lakshyam (Gopichand, Anushka - Sri Vaas) that went on to give a star status to Gopichand, though the story goes on a beaten track. Satyabhama (Shivaji, Bhumika - Srihari Naanu), based on the English film 50 First Dates, had a somewhat experimental story-line for Telugu audience that didn't click.

Director Priyadarshini Ram tossed his film Toss (Upendra, Raja, Priyamani) at the audience who promptly tossed it aside. Shankar Dada Zindabad (Chiranjeevi, Karishma Kotak, Sreekanth - Prabhudeva) was only the outcry of the moviemakers but the audience didn't echo the same, giving Chiranjeevi one of the biggest flops of his career. 4 straight films and 5 dubbing films were released in July, in all.

August

August has five straight and seven dubbed films, Yamadonga (N.T.R, Priyamani, Mamatha Mohandass - S.S. Rajamouli) created records and it is the biggest hit this

year so far, while Yamagola Mallee Modalaindi (Sreekanth, Venu, Reema Sen, Meera Jasmine - Srinivasa Reddy) started slowly but became a decent hit eventually, while Allare Allari ('Allari' Naresh, Venu, Parvathi Melton, Mallika Kapoor - Muppalaneni Siva) ran into a lot of troubles before it hit the theatres, but finally it left noiselessly.

While films like Allullaa... Mazaka! and Nindu Pournami were washouts. Dubbing films like Himsinche Raju 23va Pulikesi, Ramgopal Verma's Aggi, and Harry Potter Adbhuta Shaktulu were released with much publicity but ended up miserably at the box-office. The month ended with another dubbing film Raghavan (Kamal Hasan, Jyothika, Kamalini Mukherjee - Gowtham Menon), which was released after several problems in its making. (It was supposed to be titled Magadheera and was supposed to be produced by Amani's husband Khaja Mohideen, who even attempted a suicide due to his financial problems.

Srihari, who was expected to play an important role in the movie, was left out too!) Finally, the movie did make some money anyway
