One of the country's most popular celebrity couples, Awal and Scha have been a couple for three years now, having first met as co-hosts of Astro Ria dance reality show Sehati Berdansa.

Awal, the host of One In A Million and the star of the film Impak Maksima, said their akad nikah ceremony will take place at 8.30pm on May 4 in Pullman Putrajaya Lakeside Hotel And Resort, Putrajaya.

Scha, the host of entertainment show Popaganza and the star of the films Aku Bukan Tomboy and Papadom, said their bersanding ceremony will be at 8.30pm on May 6 in Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC).

Astro Ria will broadcast eight programmes from April 13 to May 18 in conjunction with the couple's wedding preparations. Astro Ria channel manager Norazian Mohd Zahir said there will be four pre-wedding programmes, a bersanding programme and the akad nikah broadcast live on Astro Ria and Astro Awani.

"Each recorded programme will be screened at 9.30pm on Fridays," she said. Awal and Scha will have 'purity' as their wedding theme and guests have been invited to dress in all-Malaysian costumes, modern and traditional. "While we want to keep things simple, having a specific theme will make it an event to cherish forever," said Awal.

"It'll also be a tribute to our careers and our mutual interests in show business, sports and all things Malaysian," said Scha.
