BELLBROOK — The Dayton Dutch Lions FC, the new professional Dutch-USA soccer club, will play Global United FC, a team of former world stars, at Bellbrook High School tonight, April 30, at 7.

Global, which plays to raise environmental awareness, features former Team USA and MLS goalkeeper Tony Meola and fellow National Soccer Hall of Fame member Thomas Dooley, who played for the Columbus Crew.

“It is a great honor for Global United FC to support a new franchise like the Dayton Dutch Lions FC in their journey to become a leading club in the USA, but also a climate-neutral club,” Global United FC president Lutz Pfannenstiel said.

The Dutch Lions are making their debut in the United Soccer Leagues (USL) this year. Their roster includes former University of Dayton forward Jeff Popella and midfielder Alex Van DerSluijs, from Carroll High School and Wilmington College.

Tickets for tonight’s match are $14 (adults) and $11.50 (under 9).
