Home Body Wrap Recipes

There are many different home body wrap recipes that work wonders, but it’s important to understand that the ingredients in the recipe that you choose will depend on what you are trying to achieve.

For instance, some people are trying to achieve inch loss, while others are simple trying to detoxify their body.

Here is a sample of a great “universal” clay based recipe that I use regularly, and really enjoy:

Body Wrap Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of seaweed clay
  • 1/4 cup sea salt
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 cups water

This is a very simple recipe that is easy to prepare, and works particularly well to improve the appearance of your skin.

Directions:

Simply boil water in a pot, add the ingredients, and stir until the mixture forms a wet paste.

Let the paste cool off slightly, and begin applying it to the areas of your body you would like to wrap.  Once the paste has been applied to your body, begin wrapping.  I always recommend that you use body wrapping cloths as opposed to towels, as they are much more effective.

Leave the cloths on your body for at least 45 minutes.  Since home body wraps can be messy, usually the bathtub is the best place to sit during the wrapping process.  Try relaxing with some of your favorite tea and listen to calming music.

After the 45 minutes is up, remove the towels and take a warm shower to remove the paste, and enjoy the new revitalized you!

    1 cup green clay
    1/4 sae salt
    2 tbsp sea salt

    also could you use kelp
    Thnak you

  2. admin says:

The recipe in the article is a good “all around” formula. Note that most wrapping recipes will result in immediate inch loss, but initially most of this inch loss is water.

For long term weight / inch loss, green tea and kelp are two very important ingredients.

    Best of luck!

  4. Brenda says:

Haven’t tried it ,but i plain to real soon.

  5. jen p says:

how often can i do the body wraps?

  6. admin says:

There isn’t really a limit in terms of how many body wraps you perform, but most of the time 2-3 wraps per week is a good start and you can decrease to 1 weekly after that. It also depends on your goals… For example if you are aiming for body detox, then I recommend more wraps and for a longer period of time.

I’m from Chula Vista California and I was wondering if an organic supermarket would sell these ingredients. All the produce is fresh and they have a big homeopathic section. what do you think? I’m in really good shape but I’m still self conscious of my thighs. Inner thighs that is I’m 2.5 inches shy of having 20 inch thighs at the top(bulk). What recipe would be a good starter one for me that would have results I like. I work out and try to eat healthy.

  19. cathy says:

    Hey Karina,
Can you please detail on what is 40,000 IU of vitamin A at Walmart ? I tried searching at Walmart, but couldn’t locate it, could you please proivide me an online link from walmart.com or the exact name of the product that I can ask here at our local walmart?

  20. Molly says:

Never consume more than 5000 IU of vitamin A per day. If you do, you are risking your life! Vitamin A is absorbed into the fat cells and is stored there. Only water soluble vitamins may be taken in excessive amounts, because the body flushes out what it does not need. Taking too much of a water soluble vitamin may give you expensive pee, but it will not kill you. Educate yourself as to which vitamins are fat soluble and which are water soluble. DO NOT TAKE OVER THE RDA OF FAT SOLUBLE VITAMINS…YOUR LIVER WILL THANK YOU.

  21. karina says:

Cathy…You should be able to find it at any health store but waay cheaper here.. VITACOST.COM …OMG!! I dont shop anywere else..this site is amazing..c for yourself..
VITAMIN A is fine to take up to 30 or 40,000 ius but ONLY for a limited time..I took it for 3 weeks or so..but youd hafta take a TON of it for it to buid up in your system an be toxic..Ive helped tons of people in the health food store i worked at cure acne, warts ect ect ://www.acne.org/messageboard/Accutane-Vitamin-t74417.html
Ill let ya know how it goes..wish me luck!

  23. Ella says:

    Hi Donna,

The compression style bandages are the best to use. Here is more information about them: Body wrap bandages

    Regards,

    Ella

  24. Ranae Stead says:

Do I soak the bandages in a particular solution before wrapping?

  25. Ella says:

    Hi Ranae,

Normally you would soak your bandages in a mixture of water / herbal formula.

These are the herbal formulas we sell: Herbal Body Wrap Formula

    Best,

    Hello,
I just wanted to share a cheap source of bentonite clay. It is what some types of kitty litter made of. You can use in wraps as well as in facials. Just make sure you use clay from new bag (not the one one you used for your cat’s if you happen to have one), and you only use a brand that is 100% bentonite with no ther ingridients added (so make sure to read the ingridients list). Since it is not in powder from you may wanna put it grinder first.
And by the way another good clay to use is Rhasshoul clay from Morocco. It is non drying so is suitable for those who have dry skin. Here is basic info on it’s properties:
    •Reduces dryness (79%)
    •Reduces flakiness (41%)
    •Improves skin clarity (68%)
    •Improves skin elasticity / firmness (24%)
    •Improves skin texture (106%)
•Removes surface oil and oil from inside and around comedons
•Removes dead skin layers, resulting in a general smoothing of the surface skin
•In addition to the oil removal characteristics

You can use it in wraps, facials and even wash your hair with it (I do). Just google it to find out more.
Just wanted to share info that I have, Happy Wrapping.

  28. cj says:

What do you do with the wraps afterwards…cna you wash and use them again?

  29. Ella says:

    CJ,

You can reuse them. After each wrap, simply place them in the washing machine and hang them to dry.

Hello. I tried the above recipe with kelp and green tea included to help lose inches. Followed the recipe, wrapped myself up in body wrap bandages, and sat for an hour in a very warm room. Im disappointed because I didnt even lose a 1/4 inch!! Any suggestion on what I did wrong or can do better to lose inches?? Thanks so much for all the info…this is a great sight, so im hoping to figure this out and lose some inches! Thanks!

    Laura

  41. Ella says:

    Laura,

We always recommend a series of 8-10 wraps over the course of a month. Also, instead of sitting for the duration of your wrap, consider some form of activity. Walking up stairs, on a treadmill, jumping on a trampoline etc.. Anything you can do to improve circulation and get lymphatic fluid flowing will help.
