Launch of the music album of Minister Phatakeshto.

Kolkata: Minister Phatakeshto, the most awaited Bengali movie of the year produced under the banner of Shree Venkatesh Films and directed by Swapan Saha launched the music of the movie amidst a lot of razzmatazz. Stars like our very own Superstar, Mithun Chakraborty, Shoumitra Chatterjee, George Baker, Koyel Mallick and Locket Chatterjee were present for the event. Mr Subhash Chakroborty, hon’ble Minister of State Transport, Government of West Bengal unveiled the music of the film. The music launch was as unusual as the movie promises to be. “It is the first commercial Bengali film sequel, hence we did away with everything normal and set our own rules for this one. We did away with the plain-vanilla music launches at a star-hotel and chose to do it at the High Tide at The Spring Club, the trendiest place in the city. We promise to rock al our audiences with Mithun da’s hip-hop number – Ami Minister Phatakeshto,” said Mahendra Sing Soni. The title track of the movie has already created a stir, with Mithun Chakraborty lending his voice for the first time for playback. “When I played this song for the first time in front of Mr Shrikant Mohta, he said that he wants the lyrics of this song in Bengali. It was a big challenge for me”, said Mr Jeet Ganguly, the music-composer of Minister Phatakeshto. “Around 2004-05 I heard Mithun da singing in a concert”, he continues, “And I thought that he has such an original style that he is the only person who can do proper justice to this song”. Joi Martin has done the English and Bengali rap version of this song. Jeet Ganguly has also made Kunal Ganjawala sing for a Bengali movie for the first time in the history of Bengali film industry. He sings a patriotic number in the film. The main man behind the music of this song is Mr Shrikant Mohta. Jeet Ganguly says, “The music I have composed is a conglomeration of the music I hear around me. I have been lucky enough to work together with some great artists like Kunal Ganjawala and Mithun da, and also for receiving unyielding support from Shree Venkatesh Films”. The music of the movie has incorporated a fresh new taste in the music of Bengali commercial movie.
