Newt Gingrich: President Obama’s actions make people believe he’s Muslim

“It should bother the president. Why does the president behave the way that people would think that [he is a Muslim]? You have to ask, why would they believe that? It’s not because they’re stupid. It’s because they watch the kind of things I just described to you. When you have every bishop in the Catholic Church say this administration’s at war with their religion, you don’t think that has an impact?”

Reason Rally on National Mall

Follow On Faith Saturday for live Tweets from the Reason Rally on the National Mall, billed by organizers as the largest gathering of the secular movement in history.

“We want people to come out of the closet and show people we can be good without God,” Herb Silverman, president of the Secular Coalition, told the Post’s Michelle Boorstein. Newt Gingrich: I accept that President Obama is a Christian

“You know, that is such total baloney. I was asked by a reporter immediately afterwards. I said of course I accept that he’s a Christian. The guy didn’t ask me a question. The guy got up and stated his opinion. I don’t have an obligation to go around and correct every single voter about every single topic. I also didn’t agree with him.”

Newt Gingrich, responding to criticism for not correcting a voter’s opinion that Obama is a Muslim.
