CASTROVILLE,  Calif- The Monterey County Sheriff's Department has identified a Watsonville man  who they say started a bomb scare Wednesday afternoon.

According to deputies, someone reported a suspicious vehicle on Molera Road near Highway 1, with the driver, 55-year-old Lawrence Guzzino, slumped over in the front seat. Deputies determined Guzzino, who had a warrant out for his arrest and Fresno County probation conditions for an arson conviction was sleeping.

The probation conditions allowed deputies to search and seize anything in Guzzino's car or belongings. Deputies stopped the search after locating capped metal pipes, ammunition, propane canisters and the "Anarchist Cookbook."

Deputies closed Molera road as a matter of safety and called in the bomb squad.  Members of the bomb squad interviews Guzzino and then searched the car with a robot, x-ray and by hand. No explosives were found.

Guzzino was booking into the Monterey County Jail for being a felon in possession of ammunition,  and various probation violations such as possession of alcohol and adult pornography.
