Tampa Bay Storm moves above .500 with win over Kansas City Command

TAMPA — Surrendering 64 points a game, the Tampa Bay Storm entered a rare Monday night game at the Tampa Bay Times Forum with the worst scoring defense in the Arena Football League.

Facing the Kansas City Command, the only winless team in the AFL, the Storm's defense improved considerably.

Rookie-filled Tampa Bay Storm faces experienced Philadelphia Soul

TAMPA — The Storm looks to remain in first place in the American Conference's South Division this week when it faces Philadelphia tonight in its third of five nationally televised games on the NFL Network.

Philadelphia enters with the best record in the American Conference, 4-1, and tied with Chicago for the league's top mark. A Storm (3-2) win coupled with a Georgia loss to Orlando tonight would put the Storm in sole possession of first place in the division.

Tampa Bay Storm beats Cleveland Gladiators 69-48

TAMPA — No Prechae Rodriguez, no problem for the Storm.

Rodriguez, a Jefferson High graduate and the Arena Football League's leading receiver with 43 catches, was inactive for Friday's game against Cleveland with concussion-like symptoms from a hit he sustained a week earlier at New Orleans.

Tampa Bay Storm has better offense thanks to quarterback Stephen Wasil

TAMPA — After four games, there is a one-game difference from this season's 2-2 Storm record and last season's 1-3.

Also better is the offense.

Tampa Bay is scoring 54 points per game (tied for ninth in the 17-team league) compared to 34.5 last season and averaging 316 yards (sixth) compared with 224.5.

Storm loses to New Orleans 66-47

The Storm (2-2) lost to host New Orleans 66-47 in the Arena League on Friday.

Tampa Bay's Prechae Rodriguez led all receivers with nine receptions for 121 yards and four TDs. He was knocked out of the game late when he was hit in the head by a defender.

TAMPA — Tim Marcum said "he'd live to fight again" and would "bring a team (to Tampa to) kick your butt" after the longtime Storm coached resigned amid controversy before last season.

TAMPA — A wild start — four touchdowns among the first five plays — gave way to a wilder ending Friday at the Tampa Bay Times Forum.

Stephen Wasil hit Prechae Rodriguez for a 1-yard touchdown on the final play to give the Storm a 71-69 victory over Jacksonville before 8,446.

Tampa Bay Storm QB Stephen Wasil more comfortable for game against Jacksonville

TAMPA — Hard to blame the kid for being a little wide-eyed.

In his first home start for the Storm two weeks ago, quarterback Stephen Wasil trotted out onto the new turf at the Tampa Bay Times Forum and tried to soak it all in. Problem was, he had no frame of reference.

Tampa Bay Storm defeats Georgia Force 50-47

TAMPA — It took 10 weeks for new Storm coach Dave Ewart to win a home game last season. This year it only took two, with a dash of history mixed in.

The Storm, wearing new blue home uniforms, became the first team in Arena Football League history to reach 200 regular-season wins, defeating visiting division-rival Georgia 50-47 before a rowdy crowd of 16,054 Friday night at the Tampa Bay Times Forum.
