Jubilee House renamed Flagstaff House
The name of the Presidential Palace officially known as Jubilee House has reverted to its original name, the Flagstaff House.

The presidential abode has been the centre of political controversy since the Kufour government changed the name after its renovation to mark the 50th anniversary of Ghana’s Independence.

The General Secretary of the PNC, Bernard Monah, says the renaming of the Jubilee House as Flagstaff House is not any major issue for the people of Ghana to concentrate on in terms of debate.

He said this is not the first time the name of a monument has been changed.

What the people of Ghana are looking up to is a government which will address their concerns.

The Editor in Chief of the Insight newspaper and a leading member of the CPP, Kwesi Pratt, says there is no change of name from Jubilee House to Flagstaff House.

According to him, that monument is called Flagstaff House and it is still so, because the legal backing or process which should have been invoked to back the change of name has not been done, therefore that house is still Flagstaff House.
