TAFISA Certified Leadership Courses in Sport for All were developed to train and qualify national Sport for All leaders around the globe.  Since its inception in 2007, International TAFISA CLCs have been successfully held in Iran, Nigeria, Tanzania, China, Australia, Malaysia, Turkey and Argentina.  TAFISA has also established a National CLC course which has already been run successfully in Iran and Trinidad & Tobago.

In 2010, the International Olympic Committee signed a Memorandum of Understanding with TAFISA to further develop the CLC program.  This has seen an increase in participation by National Olympic Committee members in each region.  With the cooperation of the IOC, TAFISA now aims to increase the number of courses to five per year from 2011, one in each of Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe and an additional course where demand is strongest.

Objectives of the CLCs are to:

  • To promote Sport for All and physical activity
  • To provide a platform for debate, exchange of experience, networking etc.
  • To showcase research and development in the global Sport for All and physical activity sector
  • To develop and train leaders and managers in the Sport for All sector
  • To aid development of TAFISA member organisations
  • To train National Olympic Committees in the field of Sport for All development and implementation
  • To build cooperation between National Olympic Committees and other responsible sports bodies

Coming International TAFISA CLCs include:
