Ease of use

London Elects is committed to ensuring access to information for everyone. We have made every effort to make this site accessible and easy to use for everyone, no matter what browser you choose to use, and whether or not you have any disabilities.

All links on the website should open in the same window, apart from links to external sites.

This site is designed to be accessible to users who cannot use a pointing device (e.g. a mouse). Each of the main areas of the site can be accessed using commands from the keyboard. Not only does this give essential access to users with special needs, it also provides a quick and easy way of navigating for all users.

Text resizing

This site is built to allow scalable text. The text size can be controlled by using your browser’s text sizing tools. In Internet Explorer these can be accessed from the top menu under ‘View > Text Size’.

Standards–compliant code

This website is built using code compliant with W3C standards for XHTML and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). The site displays correctly with current browsers, and using standard XHTML code means that any future browsers will also display this website correctly.

This website conforms to priority two of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0. These Guidelines explain how to make Web content accessible to people with disabilities. Conformance to these Guidelines will help make the Web more accessible to users with disabilities and will benefit all users.

Downloads

As well as HTML web pages, this site includes files to download in formats such as Adobe PDF, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. We try to make these files as accessible as possible for everyone. Help in downloading these files is available on the pages from which they are downloaded.
