What is the NextGen Series?
The inaugural NextGen Series is a Champions League-style tournament for U19s.
16 of Europe's elite clubs will compete in the six-month competition, offering the stars of tomorrow a chance to develop their talents.
Sanctioned by UEFA and the FA, the tournament has been established to help the continent’s best teenagers make the transition from youth football to senior level.
Three 'over-age' players (no older than 20) are also permitted to be included in squads.
The Format
The 16 teams are split into four groups of four and will play each of their opponents both home and away.
The top two teams from each group will progress into the knockout stage ahead of January's grand final.
