Boarding

Welcome to boarding at Brisbane Grammar School. Boarding has been an integral and dynamic part of the School’s landscape since it opened in 1869. Boarders are in the perfect position and have ample opportunity to access the vast array of experiences the School has to offer. As Harlin House is located at the heart of the campus, the boarders have, on their doorstep, extensive playing fields, the Indoor Sports Centre and the Music Centre, and need only walk about 50m to The Lilley Centre - the newly opened teaching and learning centre, incorporating the new library, and to which the boarders have access two nights a week.

This stimulating boarding environment is comprised of young men from rural and regional communities, provincial cities and overseas locations. A warm and nurturing community, the boys undoubtedly form strong bonds and valued friendships that continue long after school, often a lifetime. Our Housemasters are all graduate staff, the majority of them teachers, who focus on supporting the boys through the many personal and academic challenges that are a part of life.

Our aim is that boarding at Brisbane Grammar School will provide your son with a chance to develop both his emotional and intellectual intelligence through his interaction with a diverse range of people and experiences. I encourage you to access the links to the specific offerings that are open to our boarders and to contact either myself (Simon Hill), or the School’s Registrar (Catherine McMahon) for further information about boarding at Brisbane Grammar School.

The Director of Boarding is Mr Simon Hill.
