Euskal Selekzioa 0 Tunisia 2
By: Jack | December 28th, 2011Amorrortu’s first match in charge of the Selekzioa ends in defeat.
Despite having more of the ball and putting in a decent performance, it was the north Africans who were more clinical and emerged victorious.
The Tricolor created several chances in the first half without converting, Aduriz in particular spurning a few including a couple (over) ambitious bicycle kicks.
The second half saw more attempts on goal from the Basques, and an goal seemed inevitable but it was the Tunisians who struck first. A shot came off the post and fell nicely to Youssef Msakni who was left with an easy finish. It was against the run of play but such is football that you only need one shot to score.
Euskadi kept attacking in search of an equaliser but late on Tunisia sealed the win. Despite having five defenders back in the area, the defence was all over the place and Adel Chedli took his goal well.
