The landlord of the Bel Air Court Apartments in Columbus, Ohio is requiring tenants to sign pest control addendums. These contracts serve as riders to the original lease agreement and the purpose is to put the responsibility of bed bug infestation on the tenant.

With so many homes on the market, whether it be under foreclosure, short sale or other distress, large scale private investment firms are seeing an opportunity to make a great return on investment. These firms are accumulating these homes at steep discounts and converting them into rental properties.

The city of Fort Wayne, Indiana has received a grant of $2.5 million from the Department of Housing and Urban Development. This grant is to be used to issue low-interest loans to landlords to remove lead paint hazards in their properties.
