A question about the charges against Silvio Berlusconi? by Sam Q: Silvio Berlusconi is being charged with having sex with an under-age prostitute, I believe that is correct? However I was under the impression that the age of consent in Italy was 14, 13 if you are within 3 years of your partners age. Is this wrong or is there a different law for prostitution? Obviously prostitution (or the soliciting or whatever) is illegal in Italy, so that is understandable, but I was just curious as how she was under age! I'm not defending Berlusconi or anything, just curious!

A: To SELL/BUY sex they must be at least 18 or it's illegal. Even though the age of consent is lower. These laws are to discourage sex trafficking...Canada, England, etc. have the same law.
