The truth is catching up with Obama
By Michael Gaynor

Like the boy who cried wolf, Team Obama has been crying racism without justification.

Bad News: As Mark Twain famously observed, a lie can go half way around the world while the truth is still putting its boots on.

Good News: The truth cannot necessarily be concealed forever.

Presumptive Republican presidential nominee John Sidney McCain wants the North Carolina Republican Party NOT to use a television commercial showing Rev. Jeremiah A. "God damn America" Wright, Jr." calling on God to damn, but the North Carolina Republican Party is right to tell Senator McCain that it is entitled to use that commercial and he is not entitled to dictate what is included or not included in their commercials.

Senator McCain is entitled to run his campaign as he sees fit, of course.

Senator McCain is NOT entitled to censor his fellow Americans, regardless of race, color, creed, sex or political registration.

THANK GOD and America's Founders and defenders for America's Declaration of Independence and Constitution, especially the First Amendment guarantees of freedom of religion, speech and press!

Conservative Voice Forum poster: "I find it very interesting that the media brought out the racist card with Bill Clinton the other day, just prior to North Carolina, that has a heavy Democratic black vote. If there is a racist in the mix, yes it is Jeremiah Wright, and black voters who truly want to work together with all peoples need to look at this. The glassy eyed Obama groupies will cast their vote then go for another glass of koolaid. It's time to put the koolaid down, Obama has been shooting himself in the foot lately just being himself. Obama's gaffs have been very serious though, more serious than most of us realize. This man has serious flaws, and the American people deserve better."

Senator Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. and his supporters have been cunningly trying to induce non-black Americans to support Obama to show that they are not racist and the knee-jerk reaction of some Obama supporters has been to attack criticism of Obama as racist and critics of Obama as racist.

The truth is that some critics of Obama ARE racist.

The truth is that some who are supporting Obama instead of Hillary Rodham Clinton are sexists.

But it's also true that some blacks supporting Obama are doing so because he's the most black of the viable presidential possibilities and, unless racist is arbitrarily defined to exclude them based on race, they are racist.

The truth is that 1984 Democrat vice presidential candidate Geraldine A. Ferraro was right and the criticism of her as a racist was baseless.

Mrs. Ferraro was right that Obama would just be an overly ambitious rookie United States Senator unsuccessfully seeking the presidency, despite his lack of military or executive experience or significant legislative accomplishment, if he was not what he is racially: half-black and half-white.

Like the boy who cried wolf, Team Obama has been crying racism without justification.

Reality: Race and gender have worked FOR Obama in his race against Hillary.

Obama's getting more than 90% of the black vote in Democrat primaries and Obama supporters think that's a wonderful expression of racial pride, not evidence of racism.

But if more than 90% of non-blacks (or women) voted for Hillary instead of Obama, Obama supporters would be railing against the racism (or sexism) of a great percentage of those voters.

White voters gave Obama more than a fair hearing, as the pre-Rev. Wright and pre-Bittergate primaries and caucuses showed.

Since voters learned about Rev. Wright and Obama's remarks on small town America, religion and guns at that closed San Francisco Obama fund raiser, however, Hillary's been winning the white vote and in the Pennsylvania Democrat primary she won a big majority of white men and a bigger majority of white women.

Obama's success was based on his pose as a candidate who transcends race and the ignorance of voters who wanted to believe in him.

The reality is that the more we find out about Obama, the worse it is for his aspiration to be president.

That's NOT because non-black Americans are racist.

That's because they are educable!

There is no good reason for Obama to have acquiesced in the crazed hate speech of his spiritual mentor, Rev. Wright, for any appreciable length of time, much less many years, risk bringing his young daughters to hear sermons by Rev. Wright and invite (and then disinvite) Rev. Wright to speak at the announcement of Obama's presidential campaign and make him part of his presidential campaign.

There is nothing racist about opposing the political ambition of a person for dismissing and disdaining religion as the result of bitterness.

There is nothing racist about opposing the political ambition of a person for looking down upon the people of small town America.

There is nothing racist about opposing the political ambition of a person for saying that a gun owner clings to a gun because he or she is bitter.

Obama's real problem is with the truth becoming public knowledge, not the public being racist.
