March 10: Registration begins

April 8: Registration closes at 2pm

April 9 or 10: Initial list of candidates released, to include the names of citizens, parties, and/or MPs that recommended them

April 11-13: Window to present objections to candidates

April 14 or 15: Announcement of candidates excluded due to “legitimate objections”

April 16-26: Second window to present objections

April 26: Final list of candidates published; campaigns officially begin

May 11-17: First round of voting for Egyptians living abroad*

May 21: Campaign period ends

May 23 & 24: First round of voting in Egypt

June 3-9: Second round of voting for Egyptians living abroad in the event of a runoff between the top 2 candidates*

June 16 & 17: Second round of voting in Egypt in the event of a runoff between the top 2 candidates

June 21: Deadline for announcement of new president

June 30: Target date for transfer of power to civilian government

*There are 586,911 Egyptians living abroad that are registered to vote
