Massachusetts Youth Leadership Forum (YLF) is NOW taking applicants!
YLF is an overnight conference for youth with disabilities who want to participate in their communities, join the workforce and become successful adults.

High School students with disabilities can apply to be a YLF delegate. Delegates are youth in their LAST TWO YEARS of high school (including the class of 2012) who want to dev...elop self-advocacy and leadership skills, begin to plan career goals, and build a network of supports & friends.

Young adults (under the age of 25) who have FINISHED high school for at least one year, and are currently working or in college should apply to be a YLF peer leader. Peer leaders are young adults who help plan activities and mentor delegates. They receive a small stipend for their work.

MLK Scholar Shines at PYD
Jesse Bland was PYD's MLK Summer Scholar this year thanks to a corporate grant from sponsors John Hancock, The Boston Globe, Boston University and Partners HealthCare. Coming into PYD, Bland knew little about the organization, but he quickly embraced the ideals of its mission – aspire, achieve, empower. Now Bland has participated enthusiastically in Access to Theatre, the Youth Leadership Forum, and behind the scenes work at PYD. For every male mentor on our Mentor Match waiting list we have EIGHT male youth looking for a mentor to help them tackle the challenges of adolescence. Mentor Match is seeking good role models, especially men, to work in facilitated and structured matches with a youth over the course of one year.
