Almost didn't purchase this, but decided to try it after reading the reviews. Much better than the wooden ones...sturdy and does not leave yellow marks from the wood discoloring on the clothing. There is enough space between the bars to hang larger items and enough bars to hang a load of clothing. We liked it enough to order another one.

You can spend $50 on a sturdy wooden drying rack from a natural products company, but if you leave it untreated, it will eventually mold and warp from the moisture of wet clothes. Or you can spend $20 on this very sturdy chrome rack and not even worry about leaving it outside in the rain or snow. Even better -- get two of these. One isn't really quite enough to dry a whole load of laundry, and even with two, you've still spent less than you would've on the big wooden rack.

WARNING: Be prepared to receive damaged goods. The drying rack deserves 5 stars, the method of shippment deserves -1.
It really is a nice product, for something so simple it appears well thought out. Nice design touches, like the many plastic caps which cover any holes.
The retail package is clear shrink wrap, which is fine if I was going to pick this up in a store. I was shocked to discover that the shipping method was basically a large plastic bag. Not good protection from all of the boxes and general handling practice of UPS. Needless to say it arrived bent. Amazon, I thought you knew better.

Drying rack is excellent value and is quite sturdy, too. When it stands up, measurements are approximately 41" high, 28" wide and 14" deep. This was missing from the product description, but I bought it anyway based on the excellent reviews...I'm glad I did! Would love another one about 5' tall if it were available though.

This is an great product made of high quality polished chrome. It's easy to fold out and stand up and easy to close. It closes to 3" in depth which saves lots of space and it's lightweight. I've never used fold up dryers before but decided to shop for one to save money at the laundromat. Many people complain that wooden ones just don't last b/c they rot, discolor clothing, deform in shape, and leave splinters. So that's why a dryer made of metal was more appealing to me. Besides, the wooden ones I found at stores were flimsy in quality.

Keep in mind though that this dryer will not dry a large load of laundry, maybe a medium load at most, you might need to purchase a second one or dry a few items on a chair like I do (I do huge loads at once). The dryer I received had a small dent on one of the legs but it's so small and insignificant that I will still give it 5 stars bc the overall product is such good quality. And they seem to have corrected the packaging problem the early reviewer had b/c now they give it a HUGE box with lots of padding. The only thing is i see that amazon has raised the price.

If you are in the market for a folding clothes dryer look no further. This Polder dryer is real chrome, not cheap plating, folds into 3"wide and is sturdy enough to hold a whole load of laundry. Similar models list for $$$ to $$$ and they offer nothing more for the higher price. If you need more space just buy 2: still cheaper than 1 of the others!
I looked for months to find a replacement for my old dryer, which I had purchased for $$$ in 1984 at Sears and which, finally, would no longer stand without assistance. Imagine my horror to find these dryers now retailing for up to $$$ !!! I feared that this Polder dryer would be cheap or flimsy since the price was so reasonable. Not so! It could not be better. Seriously, it is PERFECT! Great item; great price. If you need a folding dryer, this is the real-deal FOR a real-deal!

Unfortunately, in the 6 years since I purchased this item, the price has really skyrocketed, just like everything else, everWHERE else.
I maintain my opinion that POLDER has the best quality products on the market but you now can probably buy any brand for the same, if not cheaper, price IF you can FIND a folding dryer TO buy.
POLDER stands behind their products, so, if you value that, this will be worth the price increase.
After SIX YEARS, my dryers are just like new & I use them all the time.
I would buy them again despite the higher cost.

I wanted to get a strong chrome drying rack, and after reading a lot of positive reviews about this rack, I finally bought one...But, I am highly disappointed...Even though some of the people who bought this rack gave reviews about getting their rack with rusted rods, I thought Amazon would listen to these comments and do something about it...But, unfortunately, they haven't...I opened the box I received today...and I saw 3 rods with rust on them...I am so highly disappointed with Amazon...I have been buying from Amazon for a long time, but this is the first time, that I feel that Amazon has stopped caring about their customers...I can't even ship it back, because the shipping cost might be more than the price of the rack itself...Looks like, I will have to apply some patchwork or tape to prevent the rust from spoiling the clothes...If anyone from Amazon is reading this, please make sure that you don't send rusted racks anymore...

Fabulous. I had seen a similar model in a catalog
selling for $50.00 plus shipping and handling and when
I found Polder on Amazon.com and for a lower price, I decided
to try it out. Well, I was so happy when I received it.
I had also found a similar model in one of the stores here
in Massachusetts, but was shocked to see the quality of the merchandise. It was cheaply made.
When I received the Polder Clothes Dryer, I was so happy because the quality was so superior. Many thanks Amazon.

Can a $20 drying rack be any good? Absolutely! After my wife's rack finally fell apart (after 20 years of service), I tried to find a good quality replacement. After failing to find anything halfway decent at the popular bath stores, I ultimately found this rack. The Polder name sold it for me since I know that their products are well designed. I was not disappointed. Very well put together, thick plastic feet, nicely chromed steel, lightweight, compact when folded, and easy to operate. My wife was thrilled when she saw it! What could be better?

This is a nice product, but it appears to be difficult to ship without damage. I returned one and had a second one shipped out - both have had damage due to improper shipping methods leaving the bars of the rack bent and misshapen.
