What Makes a Good Restaurant Theme?

A new Civil War themed restaurant just opend up in my neighborhood, complete with Union and Confederate Flags at the front door. The general consesus from my (albeit small) social circle, is that it seems like an odd restasurant theme for Western Maine, where no Civil War battles took place. I love history, even majoring in it in college, but as a restaurant theme? Not so much. However, if this new restaurant has great customer service and stellar food, people may embrace it, even without the Mason-Dixon Line nearby. What is your favorite restaurant theme?
