NOTTINGHAM Forest defender Kieron Freeman would like to rejoin Notts County next season.

The right-back, 20, shone in the last five months of this season on loan with the Magpies from the City Ground, playing 19 games as the club challenged for the League One play-offs.

He won the League One Player of the Month award for February and also scored the first goal of his career in the last game of the season against Colchester United.

He has one year left on his contract with the Reds, but it is unlikely he will be in their first-team plans in the Championship next season because he is behind Wales international Chris Gunter in the pecking order.

Notts might, therefore, attempt to re-sign him on loan – or maybe even permanently because Magpies boss Keith Curle is a big fan of Freeman and believes he will one day play in the Premier League.

"I would like to come back, but it's not in my hands," said Freeman.

"I'm contracted to Forest and I've got another year there so what they say goes.

"I've really enjoyed being at Notts and I have learned a lot. I wouldn't pick another club to learn my trade.

"When I got asked by Forest if I wanted to go I said yes, but I only expected to play for a month and then go back. I ended up playing a lot of games and loved every moment."

Freeman was happy to end his loan at Meadow Lane on a high note by scoring in a 4-1 win against Colchester, but was gutted the Magpies missed out on the play-offs on goal-difference.

"It was good to score, but I still feel a bit flat," he said.

"Everyone was happy we won but disappointed we didn't get into the play-offs. There is nothing we can do.

"We let ourselves down against Bury at home when we lost and we've probably only got ourselves to blame for not finishing in the top six.

"It's still been a very positive season for the club and the right manager is in place. They have a good set of players to go again next season and finish in the play-offs."

    Where's the apology .

Administration of an estate is different from a business going into administration.
Basically what it means is there is no more money to cover Forests new debts, ie wages from end of June. So if Forest continues to spend like they are now, then at some point in the near future they could go into administration.”

Strange how the same article on thisisnottingham.co.uk misses the information about the Doughty estate being in administration.”

“Beagle...apologies if I have missed something, but can you send me a link to were it states that the Doughty Estate is in Administration? This seems a ridiculous thing to state. As he was the owner of Forest, wouldn't we then be in administration, seeing as we are one of his assets? Back to the Barrack room, me thinks.”
