Hear NBC's Ann Curry talk about her photography at the Photographic Centre in West Palm Beach

WEST PALM BEACH — NBC news anchor and Today show co-host Ann Curry is in town this morning to talk about her time behind the camera, rather than in front of it.

She's here to accompany a collection of her work in still photography on exhibit at the Palm Beach Photographic Centre in West Palm Beach's City Hall complex.

The exhibit is called Empathy.

"My travels have convinced me that no human being is really foreign to another. We have so much in common; the truth is we are surrounded by our sisters and brothers, mothers and fathers, each life precious. It is time for us to stand up against the suffering caused by genocide, war and ignorance. If we care enough about our human family, we can change the future."

The exhibit opened last night and she speaks this morning from 10 to 11. After her talk, she'll be signing posters and answering questions from 11:30 to noon.

Her appearance is part of a wider opening for the photo centre's Leica Shop-in-Shop. The centre is a non-profit organization. And the Leica Camera shop will offer everything from Leica's point-and-shoot cameras to binoculars and high-end professional cameras and lenses.
